Another Operating Session on the Chicago & Mackinac Railroad, what fun. This time we operated with a crew of only 4 operators, 3 guests and me. The railroad ran well but I had to turn on the air conditioner (for the first time this year) as we all worked so hard we upped the room temperature. The fact that the outside temperature went up to the mid 80’s might have had something to do with it.
This session, Andy volunteered for the Yardmaster’s job and because there was only a crew of 4, he had a retirement job (don’t tell him that I said that). As usual, he did great, as did the other operators. We only moved 92 car in 7 trains, but it appeared that everyone had a good time. Mission accomplished.
Thanks guys for firing up the C&M one more time.
Here is Yardmaster Andy with a nearly empty yard. It looks like he is either sleeping or trying to read some waybills!
Steve is busy working the Petoskey Turn. He has the town pretty much tied up, but that is okay, as the dispatcher gave him track and time.
John is busy working the Cadillac Turn. Looks like he buried his caboose in the express track to get it out of the way. Good move John.
Everyone looks pretty busy!
Above: Petoskey is all wadded up! Hope there is not a through train coming.
Left: The first train of the day through Petoskey, the southbound boat train headed for the Grand Rapids yard.
Andy, John, Steve & Bob
The Crew! Thanks guys.
